Irishon the BBC
Fibín is an unusual and extraordinary theatre company. Started in 2003 in Conamara, its main aim is to provide high-quality dramatic shows in Irish to schoolchildren, young people and to anyone who loves Irish and has a sense of fun.
Fibín mix drama and puppetry together to create an irresistible, riotous performance, as the puppets take an irreverent look at the history and politics of Ireland. Among the laughs there is learning, because the stories and performances are based in facts, even though they are somewhat embellished!
Fibín is one of the fresh young theatre companies who are creating a pioneering new standard for children’s entertainment and education in Irish. And as is illustrated in the following video clip, you do not need to have fluent Irish to enjoy their capers!
