Once upon a time...

It's your chance to turn storyteller as part of National Storytelling Week. Find out what's happening and how you can get involved.

National Storytelling Week begins on 26th January and runs until 2nd February. During this event we want you to tell us your favourite story. It could be your life story or your favourite story as a child.

Many fairy tales, myths & folklore have been passed on for generations & we want to rediscover some of the magic that you felt when you first heard those stories.

The Kids Club

On Saturday 19th January, The Open Centre Kids Club created their own stories and storybooks to read together as a family.

On Saturday 2nd February storytellers from Hull University entertained the children with classic and modern children's stories.

Hull Library Service also came along and turned the Open Centre in to a lending library for the day.

On Wednesday 30th January students from a media and communication skills course operated by Oxfam and Hull College came along to the BBC Open Centre The students travelled to the UK from around the world for many different reasons. Read their stories here:
