Climb aboard Sam and watch the race here.
Sam Arrowsmith, from Greenwich in London, was in Gloucestershire for the weekend and was persuaded to take part himself. "We travelled up to stay with friends," says Sam, "and someone as a joke said 'why don't you enter?'. So I did and managed to get under a minute so I'm pleased with that." Sam found himself in the first men's individual heat alongside current World Champion Pete Roberts. He very kindly volunteered to allow us to strap a camera to his chest and you can watch the race from his perspective by clicking the link above. Good laughEven though Sam came third in his race he says he wasn't too hindered by the equipment. "It was very heavy...not really...no it was fine. It was good fun to carry it and made it all the more fun." Tetbury Woolsack Races 2009As for the rest of the race? "Sad that there wasn't a veterans category for the over 40's - I thought that would help me! "It was a bit harder than I thought but as I nearly caught the second bloke it felt ok. "The second brow of the hill is the hardest and that last third of the race is particularly difficult. "It's a really good laugh and I'd probably do it again." last updated: 26/05/2009 at 14:26 Have Your SayTetbury Woolsack Races - your thoughts?
