Help us educate others by sharing your experience here. For over 30 years, there has been an official Woolsack Races day in Tetbury. Historically, it is thought that the races date back to the 17th Century when young drovers showed off to local women by running up the hill carrying a woolsack. Many years later and the annual event is known far and wide with crowds gathering on Gumstool Hill to witness the races and watch the competitors attempt to become World Champions. Alongside the race events, spectators can also soak in the carnival-like atmosphere with a street fair, music and plenty of entertainment. Have you seen it? Have you taken part?
