The actor, known as Rodney in 'Only Fools and Horses' was photographed surfacing in the waterway by a keen-eyed amateur photographer.

'I was walking my dog through the woods with my wife near the Loch, when suddenly I heard the unmistakable sounds of someone rehearsing with Buster Merryfield.

I peered through the trees and glimpsed a cockney plonker near the banks. I didn't recognise him at first - It was only when my wife said: 'Isn't that the bloke that did that flop called the 'Piglet Files'? that the penny dropped. I rushed back to the car and grabbed my camera just before he disappeared beneath the waves.'

It's the first known sighting of a British sitcom character in the Loch since the early eighties - when an American tourist videoed Mrs Slocombe searching for her pussy.
