Get In Taster Days

Not sure whether to do an apprenticeship, go to university, or start your first job? Our Get In Taster Experiences let you explore BBC career paths and see if we're the right fit for you.

Overview

Our Get In Taster Days offer a glimpse into what it’s really like to work at the BBC. You’ll get hands-on experience with the kind of work you could be doing as an apprentice.

Not sure the BBC is for you? Let us change your mind - especially if you’re someone who wouldn’t normally apply for something like this.

At a Get In Taster Day experience, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Learn about the media industry and a professional workplace environment
  • Find out about the wide range of job roles we have to offer
  • Develop some hands-on skills
  • Spend time in a BBC studio
  • Have a closer look at our apprenticeship application process and get some tips for applying

Eligibility

  • Students aged 16-18

    • Our Get In Taster Day experiences are arranged by school/college year group – some are for those aged 16/17 and others for those who are 17 /18 years old.
    • You will have to let your school/college know that you’ve applied (and provide us with the name and contact details of a member of staff). For those aged 16 to 18 and not in school you are still eligible to apply, and we may ask for further relevant details.
    • You must have full permission and consent from your parent / guardian to apply (we will need to ask you for their contact details if you’re selected to take part).
    • For safeguarding reasons, if you are 16-18 and still in education, your home address must be within a 1-hour commute of the BBC location you have selected.
  • Over 18s who have finished compulsory education

    • We ask that you do not have previous significant work experience in the media industry. There is no upper age limit or other eligibility criteria.
