1976: David Hockney on his early life and influences
David Hockney, one of Britain's most important and influential artists of the modern era, has died at the age of 88.
In 1976, the BBC joined him in his studio and discussed his childhood, leaving Bradford and initially feeling overawed at Royal College of Art in London before finding his way. He also gives his thoughts on the painting and art that influenced him.
