1933: Amelia Earhart talks about her transatlantic crossing

Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, speaks to the BBC about her experiences during her record-setting achievement.

Earhart insists, however, that the flight "has no significance in aviation, and is only a personal satisfaction."

This recording is taken from the Pieces of Tape compilation programme.
