Here we've collated classroom resources for primary and secondary schools that could be used to support teaching around AI technologies and responsible use. The theme for Safer Internet Day in February 2026 was safe and responsible use of AI. The new AI Awareness Day in June 2026 might be another opportunity to explore these topics with your class.
What is AI Awareness Day?
AI Awareness Day is a new initiative that aims to develop AI literacy in UK schools. Students and teachers are encouraged to explore, debate and develop critical thinking around AI, learning how AI technologies work, the potential societal implications, and the foundations for ethical and safe use.
When is AI Awareness Day?
The inaugural AI Awareness Day takes place on 4 June 2026.

Each video invites children on a journey alongside Chicken and Agent to explore the world of AI, and each is accompanied by curriculum links and teaching notes. You can also watch back our Live Lesson from February 2026, where we explored the careful decisions behind responsible AI design, from selecting reliable, accurate, and unbiased training data to writing system prompts that prevent ‘bad’ AI behaviour.
