Loughborough's Martyn Rooney is eyeing victory at this weekend's European Team Championships in Norway.
Rooney, who has been selected for the men's 400m in Bergen, won the event two years ago in Annecy.
He told BBC Radio Leicester: "I'm looking forward to competing on the Saturday and just going out to win.
"That's what we're there to do. We're there to compete for GB as a team and win as many points as possible, so I'm excited about that."
Rooney said he wants to be able to consistently run the event at the 44-second mark.
"If I can run 44 seconds every day of the week, then I can get closer to the British record and really compete in the World Championships and Olympics."
The European Team Championships take place on Saturday and Sunday.
