Not sure many saw this coming after Novak Djokovic took a two-set lead and seemed well on course for a place in the fourth round.

It's not very often you see him 5-0 down in a set, either.

The seven-time champion produced a statement performance in his clinical straight-set win over former top-10 player Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round, but it is safe to say he is not having things his own way on Centre Court right now.

Arthur Rinderknech has never allowed his head to drop - and now he is getting his reward as Djokovic continues to suffer a significant dip here...

  3. Brooksby holdspublished at 15:48 BST

    *Sinner 6-4 2-3 Brooksby

Wow! We've just seen the point of the match.

Jannik Sinner races to the net and sends over a drop shot, Jenson Brooksby slices a return back and the Italian is there to put a winner into open space. Incredible agility all round.

At 40-15, Brooksby is given the runaround again. Sinner forces the American wide and then cuts a winner across the opposite side.

Brooksby gets the job done on the net point with a volley.

    Something strange is happening here...

Novak Djokovic has never lost a set 6-0 on grass. The last time it happened on any surface was in Belgrade against Andrey Rublev in 2022.

Maybe he just likes making history?

Djokovic is in a funny mood again. I felt he had calmed down and got things back on track.

It's so hard when your opponent is teeing off on everything. Rinderknech has hit some unbelievable shots, it's been a mix of power from the end of the court and deadly softness at the net.

It's almost like Djokovic is done with this set, he's not running after anything.

  6. Brit Swan out of mixed doublespublished at 15:46 BST

    Peers/Swan 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-7 (6-10) Roger-Vasselin/Siegemund

Britain's Katie Swan has bowed out of the mixed doubles in the first round.

She and Australian partner John Peers won the first-set tie-break against Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Laura Siegemund but the French-German duo took the second 6-4 before winning the final-set tie-break 10-6.

  7. Rinderknech holds for 5-0 lead in third setpublished at 15:46 BST

A rapid hold of serve by Arthur Rinderknech.

Are we about to see Novak Djokovic lose a set 6-0? He needs to hold serve after the change of ends to avoid a third-set bagel.

Does the heat affect the tennis balls?

    Richard, Purley

There is some physics behind it, but in simple terms, yes, heat does affect the tennis balls.

As temperatures rise, it causes the pressure inside the ball to increase. In turn, this makes the balls feel harder and bounce better and can make for a faster game.

Conversely, when the temperature is lower, the pressure inside the balls decreases, making them softer and can slow down a game.

With heatwave temperatures set to arrive over the coming days, it is going to favour those players who like a quicker ball and faster game (like the big servers).

When Novak [Djokovic] walked on the court, you could sense that it was one of those days that would be different.

Even though he's won many times on this court, sometimes there are just off days.

  10. Sinner holdspublished at 15:44 BST

The turnaround is completed in emphatic terms.

Jannik Sinner sends over a wide serve and whips a forehand winner into the opposite corner.

    Never in doubt.

  11. Rinderknech breaks Djokovic againpublished at 15:43 BST

    *Rinderknech 5-7 4-6 4-0 Djokovic

Arthur Rinderknech threatens another break of serve in the third set - and he's got it!

A double fault by Novak Djokovic at 30-40 gifts Rinderknech a break point, which ends with Djokovic going wide with a backhand.

Rinderknech found the line three or four times in that last point! He's well in control of the third set now.

    *Sinner 6-4 1-2 Brooksby

Jannik Sinner was number one on tour in terms of break points saved in 2025 and he's number two this year.

No surprises that he defends both on this occasion then.

    Here we go.

Jenson Brooksby has his first break points of the match - two of them.

Mevdevev is looking very serious right now. It's been pretty straightforward, he's very calm, cool and collected. He's usually chirping at his box but not here, he looks very in control of his emotions.

    Kyle Edmund
Former British number one on BBC One

There were quite a few second serve opportunities in that game. The drop shot is one of the very few tactics that has brought some success for Arthur Rinderknech, and he reverted back to it right there.

That is exactly what he needed after going two sets to love down.

  20. Brooksby holdspublished at 15:36 BST

    *Sinner 6-4 1-2 Brooksby

Jenson Brooksby has to come from behind again to get his hold but crucially he does get it.

There's a lot of emotion from the American with each point that he wins.
