  20. 'Wimbledon is really a standout for me'published at 14:34 BST

    Egberink 1-6 3-6 Hewett

Alfie Hewett shakes hands with Tom EgberinkImage source, PA Media

Great Britain's Alfie Hewett, speaking on court three after beating Netherlands' Tom Egberink in straight sets: "First round matches never get any easier, but it is a privilege to be on these courts and it is certainly something I don't take for granted each year. There were definitely some nerves in the beginning there, a few too many shanks, but it was good to get through in the end.

"I know what Tom [Egberink] is capable of. He has got a great backhand slice and a big forehand as well, so I knew I had to play it smartly. I just felt like I was playing a little bit too much into that backhand side at times and he was knifing it pretty well towards the end of the second set. I thought I did well to keep my serve in that second set and just keep in it."

On winning the men's wheelchair singles title at Wimbledon in 2024: "It is the best feeling in the world. This is the one tournament where I probably don't have the best sleep, but that's because of excitement and the experiences that I've had here. Wimbledon is really a standout for me. Some of the memories that myself, my team and my family have had here over the years have been a real highlight of my career. Hopefully it is even better this year."
