After a humbling loss in Johannesburg last week, South Africa rose to the challenge to beat the All Blacks and level the series.
But we're only halfway through this epic series. The sides meet again in Johannesburg next week before heading to the United States for a fourth Test in Baltimore.

Wow! That was intense. Those guys are as tough as teak. Some great rugby there. I think the Springboks only gave away five or six penalties all game. If that was England playing five or six penalties would have been conceded in the first ten minutes.

New Zealand’s lineout was terrible today and cost us more points than our terrible scrum last week. Why Aumua is not starting is beyond me. We are a different team with him on.

New Zealand captain Ardie Savea:
"It's unfortunate. We kind of let the Springboks get ahead in the first two minutes and we were chasing the game after that.
"But I'm proud of the boys, we stuck in there and fought but we came up short. It's a bitter pill to swallow but we need to go again next week.
"Our inaccuracy and discipline, they punished us today. We've got to sort that out.
"We've lost the battle tonight but we haven't lost the war - we'll go again."

South Africa's Cheslin Kolbe, named player of the match, said: "We could feel the mood in the week this week from South Africa fans. When we get the opportunity to wear this jersey, we want to do you guys proud, we want to do the jersey proud.
"Thank you for being behind us and sticking with us, we'll just keep going from here and continue to learn."
On his 18-point display: "That's Test rugby, you need to take every point that's given to you. Last week we didn't capitalise on that and it's credit to the boys for sticking to the plan today and taking the points on offer."

Well, that was a bruising Test between two of the game's heavyweights.
New Zealand once again outscored South Africa in terms of tries, but 18 points from the boot of Cheslin Kolbe proves decisive.
Just the response Rassie Erasmus would have wanted.

New Zealand find Will Jordan on the right but some ferocious South African defending gives the Springboks the ball and that's it!
A big win for the world champions in Cape Town to level the series.

The penalties are totting up against South Africa but New Zealand need to score soon.
Off the back of another scrum, Ruben Love finds Will Jordan. He can't make much ground but the All Blacks keep the ball.
Ardie Savea then spots a gap and gets the ball down for his 33rd Test try! Ruben Love converts this time.
New Zealand ain't done with this just yet.

New Zealand are attacking with a penalty advantage and go for an ambitious cross-kick which doesn't find hands, so Ruben Love can kick to the line.

Cheslin Kolbe remains perfect off the tee and extends South Africa's lead, meaning two converted tries will only be good enough for a draw for the All Blacks.

The All Blacks have another put in at the scrum and initially get away but then make a mess of their attack and Malcolm Marx gets over another ball at the breakdown.
Marx has made a huge impact since being introduced just before half-time.

But they still need another two tries in the closing 12 minutes. Big ask.

New Zealand finally find some space and send Leroy Carter away down the left wing. He has plenty to do but he keeps his cool to ride a tackle and dot the ball down!
Ruben Love's conversion attempt from tight on the left just drifts left of the posts, but is it game on?
