World Cup runners-up Canada have won seven of their eight meetings with Scotland

Meanwhile Canada will be heading to Exeter to take on England at Sandy Park in a re-run of last year's World Cup final (KO 15:00). That should be a cracker.

They go straight down the other end and it's pretty direct stuff into the heart of the Scottish defence. Number eight Gabrielle Senft is able to pick-and-go straight to the line under the posts.

It's a magnificent try as Helen Nelson dinks a gorgeous little chip over the defence straight into the arms of Rhona Lloyd who supplies the finish.

Canada do what they have been doing all game and hit straight back after the Scottish score.
They turn on the power again and substitute Justine Pelletier is left with the simple task of dotting down from a yard out.

They make immediate use of the player advantage to pound at the Canada line until Lana Skeldon burrows over to touch down.
Fair play to the Scots, they are not merely rolling over and accepting their fate here.

This is starting to really get away from Scotland.
The hosts have had to expend so much energy in defence and they are starting to look a little ragged.
Scrum-half Olivia Apps exploits it by peeling off from a ruck, gives a clever wee show-and-go and streaks away to go in under the posts.

Canada generate quick ball from a lineout, go wide and then back again and fly-half Taylor Perry spots a gap and glides straight through untouched to go in under the sticks.
You suspect it's damage limitation for Scotland now.

Scotland fly-half Helen Nelson gets the second half under way.
Helen Nelson boots the ball into touch and there goes the half-time whistle.
Canada have shown why they are the third-ranked side in the world with five first-half tries, but Scotland have not thrown in the towel, responding with two tries of their own.
The challenge is to stay in the game after the break.

Olivia Apps darts over for what would be her second try of the game, but after a look the TMO spots that the gap she broke through was created by some obstruction off the ball and the try is ruled out.

It's brilliant work from the debutant Rhea Clarke who manages to strip opposite number Olivia Apps in contact.
Clarke feeds Evie Gallagher who fends off a couple off tackles and pops inside to Shona Campbell to go over.

The power is just too much for Scotland to handle. They are desperately trying to defend their line but there's just too much heavy artillery coming their way and Julia Omokhuale crashes over for Canada's fifth try.

The Scottish reprieve is only temporary and Canada are over again.
This time it's prop Brittany Kassil who does the damage from close range and the Canadians are starting to move through the gears.
Scotland 7-19 Canada
Canada move the ball wide and despite some desperate defending from Chloe Rollie, Claire Gallagher pops the ball out the tackle for Charity Williams to dive over.
However, the Television Match Official spots a knock-on a few phases prior and the try is ruled out.

And the response to the response is swift from Canada!
Having scored the try, Scotland find themselves pinned back in their own 22 and again it's flanker Lizzie Gibson hanging around out in the backs waiting for moment to cut through to score her second try.

That's a great response from the Scots.
They get themselves within striking distance and batter at the Canada line. Eventually it's Evie Gallagher, in her first Scotland appearance since last year's World Cup, who ploughs over.
Good conversion from Helen Nelson and Scotland are back within five.
