Some slick football and some clinical finishing sends Derby up to fourth in the table ahead of the weekend's fixtures.

Derby midfielder Bradley Johnson tells Sky Sports: "We knew we let ourselves down in our last game (a loss at Sheffield United) and we wanted to put on a show. From the first whistle until the last whistle, we did that."

Rams forward Matej Vydra: "The manager has given me the chance to play in my best position. I believe in myself and I try to do my best to help my team-mates and score a couple of goals."

A brilliant first-half performance from Derby sees them claim a deserved three points, but it's a scoreline that Hull players, staff and fans will want to forget about pretty quickly.

The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Fulham.

All over at Pride Park. Five goals and three points for Derby.

Now David Meyler goes close for Hull.

Adama Diomande lays the ball back for the midfielder to shoot first time from 25 metres out, his curling effort clipping the bar on the way over.

Derby have been much the better side tonight, but Leonid Slutsky's side might feel a bit unfortunate to not at least have a consolation goal to take from this game.

The Hull man meets Sebastian Larsson's cross at the far post but can't keep his header down.

Derby are still a threat too, Chris Martin testing Allan McGregor with a low shot which the keeper is forced to parry behind for a corner.

Hull deserve some credit for still trying to get the ball forward, though they aren't having too much success doing so at the moment.

A cross from the right briefly causes some trouble in the box, but Markus Henriksen can't pick out a team-mate when the ball falls to him at the back post.

Derby's counter-attack results in half-hearted appeals for a penalty from Chris Martin as he goes down inside the box, but the referee isn't interested.

Those substitutions have not injected any more life into a game which has gone a little bit flat in the last few minutes, but perhaps Chris Martin's introduction will change that.

He's on for Matej Vydra, who has now scored four goals this season, having netted only five times in the whole of the last campaign.

A whole host of changes being made now.

Nouha Dicko is off for Hull after failing to make an impact on his debut, with Adama Diomande on as his replacement.

Derby withdraw David Nugent and Andreas Weimann. Johnny Russell is introduced for the final 15 minutes alongside debutant striker Sam Winnall.

I'd imagine this isn't how Jackson Irvine dreamed of making his Hull debut.

The former Burton man is on for the final 20 minutes or so, Jon Toral making his way to the bench.

Another Hull chance.

Jon Toral curls a cross in from the left and it's met by Ola Aina, who gets plenty of power onto his header after arriving late into the box.

Unfortunately for Hull, he doesn't get the direction right, giving Scott Carson chance to make a pretty comfortable save.

Same position for the free-kick maybe, but a very different result.

Sebastian Larsson can't get his shot over the wall, leaving Scott Carson entirely untroubled.

If you haven't been watching the game, you probably won't believe me when I say that Hull have looked good in certain areas of the game.

They've had at least two or three good chances in front of goal, but a string of defensive calamities has left them with no chance of taking any points back to Humberside.

Leonid Slutsky's side have another chance to pull a goal back, as they win a free-kick in an almost identical position to the one Matej Vydra scored from earlier.

It's been a stronger start to the half from Hull, but they are still leaving far too much space at the back.

David Nugent gets a shot away from outside the box, but he flashes his effort high and wide.

At the other end, Jarrod Bowen heads wide after somehow finding several yards of space in the box.

He really should have made it 4-1.

I think that counts as Nouha Dicko's first effort on target in a Hull shirt.

The former Wolves striker directs a header towards Scott Carson's goal, but generating no power on the ball.

He gets a slightly better chance a minute later, a clever flick at the near post saved by Carson with his chest.

A little bit of concern for Derby at the start of the second half, as Tom Lawrence goes down holding his back after a pretty innocuous looking collision.

He's back on his feet after a little bit of treatment from the physio, and it looks like he'll be able to continue.

This time 14 days ago, Hull were about to emerge from the tunnel holding a 3-0 lead at home to Bolton.

Now they're simply looking to salvage a bit of pride as they head for a 17th defeat in 21 away league games.

Rob: Going to go stick my head down the toilet. It'll be more fun.

Ben: Absolutely no excuse for what's happening out there. Not blaming Slutsky but why make four changes from a side that won 4-0?
