Who has won the Masters the most times?

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy joined an exclusive list of golfers to have won the Masters multiple times with his victory at the 2026 competition.
In doing so he joined an even smaller list of champions who have won back-to-back titles at Augusta, comprising of only three other golfers - Jack Nicklaus (1966), Nick Faldo (1990) and Tiger Woods (2002).
American golfer Nicklaus holds the record for the most Masters Championship wins with six career titles at Augusta National.
Nicklaus won the title in three different decades, claiming the famous green jacket in 1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975 and 1986.
Fellow American Tiger Woods, the tournament's second-most successful player with five wins, went back-to-back in 2001 and 2002.
England's Nick Faldo also defended his Masters title in 1990, having also won it in 1989.
There are only eight players with three or more career Masters titles.
American Arnold Palmer won four between 1958 and 1964, while Jimmy Demaret, Sam Snead, Gary Player and Phil Mickelson are all three-time Masters winners.
Eleven other players have now won the title twice, with current world number one Scottie Scheffler among that number following wins in 2022 and 2024.

Who are the oldest and youngest Masters winners?
Nicklaus is not only the tournament's most successful player in history, but he is also the oldest winner of the green jacket.
His sixth and final title 40 years ago came at the age of 46 years and 82 days.
Woods holds the record for the youngest Masters winner. His first Masters crown in 1997 came at the age of 21 years and 104 days.
