McLaren's Lando Norris, who finishes third in the sprint: "There are a couple of little things we can certanly do better for later [qualifying], and better into tomorrow but no, it was a good race, good points.

"I gave it everything I could because George [Russell] was catching me pretty quickly at the end. It was a good race and congrats to these two as well."

  2. 'We've got work to do'published at 12:54 BST

Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton after finishing second in the sprint: "Big thank you for everyone that's here. The crowd is amazing. It's the most energy I've seen in the pit lane before."

"Tough race to keep the Mercedes behind. I did say that was potentially the case yesterday and obviously with it being so windy today, a big, big headwind down the backstraight, he came flying past. I was pushing as hard as I could, I gave it absolutely everything. But well done to Kimi and we've got work to do to try and close that gap so we can keep up."

On Antonelli's overtake: "Mercedes are particularly quick up to Turn 6, so I had to use the boost there. Once Antonelli got the Overtake Mode, I couldn't hold him back. I knew he was coming.”

  3. Battle with Hamilton 'very fun' - Antonellipublished at 12:52 BST

Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli, who wins the British Grand Prix sprint race: "It was a very fun first laps with Lewis [Hamilton]. We were pushing very hard.

"When I got into overtake, I knew my chance was coming. And then out of [Turn] Four, that lap was very close.; I went alongisde at Brooklands and used the boost and I tried to wait and obviously got into Stowe and used everything I had, then I was able to overtake.

"From that point on, I just tried to get into my rhythm and tried to break the overtake that he had and then just tried to bring it home.

"The momentum is there and we're doing a great job together with the team. But of course, we can't let our guard down, or lower, because Lewis and Ferrari are doing an incredible job, Red Bull and McLaren are coming, and also George [Russell] is super-quick. So we just need to keep raising the bar and keep delivering performances."

Kimi Antonelli doesn't look like a guy who hasn't done this before. To fight for a championship is a big deal and he is able to do it.

He had to fight a car out on track, which he did, cleanly and effectively, and he doesn't seem to make the mistakes he did do previously.
