    Champagne moment

    Kimi Antonelli, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris have made their way to the podium. The Italian and German national anthems are played out, and then Antonelli is handed his winner's trophy by King Felipe of Spain, who I've just found out is 6ft 5ins.

    The Mercedes team are delighted with another victory for their young title leader, and now the champange can be popped and we can all party.

    Real solid job from Kimi Antonelli, had a little bit of luck of course from the virtual safety car but still controlled that pace that he had behind Charles Leclerc and once he was set free, off he went. Big smiles in the Mercedes garage.

    The top three have reached the cooldown room. The camera catches Lando Norris having words with someone out of view. Seems as though this person has an issue with his beverage of choice (it's a red can), but Norris says he can drink what he likes, he's just done a full race!

  5. Kimi Antonelli says he'll take the win today, but concedes polesitter Lando Norris should've claimed victory in Madrid. The virtual safety car didn't fall kindly for the world champion, and when he did pit that stop by McLaren was not the quickest.

    "There was nothing I could do," is Norris' assessment.

  7. Antonelli wins Spanish Grand Prix

    Charles Leclerc, following his long stint on the hard tyre, finishes fourth, with George Russell fifth and Liam Lawson of Red Bull sixth.

    Franco Colapinto finishes two places higher than his qualifying position in seventh, Oscar Piastri, after damage early in the race, is eighth, rookie Arvid Lindblad is ninth and Audi's Nico Hulkenberg ends up taking the final points spot in 10th.

    Engineer: "Beautiful work Kimi, absolute masterpiece."

    Antonelli: "Good luck with the safety car. Feel a bit bad for Lando. Let's keep pushing."

    Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli wins the Spanish Grand Prix!

    The word "masterpiece" is used for the second time this weekend, as race engineer Bono praises his young driver. The Italian is now 81 points clear of team-mate George Russell at the top of the drivers' championship.

    Max Verstappen finishes second - he did get noted for leaving the track and gaining an advantage in that battle with Lando Norris, but the stewards have decided no further investigation is needed - and Norris, from pole, is third.

    Kimi Antonelli crosses the line to complete his final lap of the Spanish Grand Prix. This will be the Italian's eighth victory of the campaign, and he'll be the first F1 winner at the new Madring.

    Max Verstappen and Lando Norris have finished battling and will settle for second and third respectively.

    Norris: "He went off. He went off defending against me. He cut the chicane, he has to give the position."

    The McLaren phone is ringing, it's Lando Norris, who got close to Max Verstappen because of the backmarkers but is still behind the Red Bull in third. The world champion thinks the Dutchman cut the chicane and should give the position back.

    Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are coming up behind some backmarkers, who are not getting out the way quick enough. It's all a bit of a muddle, and Verstappen ends up off the track at the chicane.

    I feel so bad for Lando. He has been the best driver this weekend by far even in the race, but he cannot get any luck his way. Very disappointing from McLaren they cost him once again.

    Nearly there, folks. George Russell is still quickest man on track from fifth place, with Pierre Gasly in sixth going way long on thiose starting hard tyres.

    Lando Norris has dropped back slightly on Max Verstappen, so looks like the podium will be Kimi Antonelli, Verstappen in second and Norris in third.

    Black and white flags are being dished out on every lap now for track limits. Just keep well away from the walls.

    Kimi Antonelli leads Max Verstappen by 3.4 seconds, as Lando Norris stumbles slightly as he locks up, losing ground on Verstappen for second place.

    Antonelli reporting that he touched the wall of the entry of Turn Seven, that is where we saw Lando Norris brush the wall many laps ago, as he continues to make his way through the traffic.

    Engineer: "Copy, we're looking. Pressures are OK."

    What a double-header this has been for Kimi Antonelli after his victory in Monza. Two wins on the bounce, if nothing crazy happens, and he'll leave Madrid with a very healthy advantage over team-mate George Russell when the triple-headers start at the end of month.

    As it stands, if it finishes like this, Antonelli winning and leading the championship on 292 points ahead of George Russell, his team-mate, he would be on 211 points with a fifth-place finish. That is a gap of 81 points.
