BBC Sport journalistAs expected, Enzo Maresca was pretty tight-lipped on specific individual players but a body language expert might have fun interpreting his response to my question on whether he expected Manchester City to do any transfer business today, given Chelsea's 17:00 BST deadline for any bids for Enzo Fernandez.
"Not today to be honest," he said, with a little smile.
The smile could mean nothing, or could mean that while City may not submit any bids today, it isn't to say that one wasn't put in a day or so earlier.
Either way, it is going to be interesting what transpires over the course of the next 24 hours.

"It's a big challenge. First of all because Bernardo [Silva] showed how good he is on the ball, off the ball, in these years but again Elliot [Anderson], we are completely sure that he's going to do a great job for this club in the next few years. No doubt about that. They are different players, but we are going to try to use Elliot in the best way for him and for the team."
On difficulty of planning midfield considering Rodri uncertainty:
"We'll see what happen, Bernardo already left, we'll see what happens with the rest. For sure, with Bernardo, John, Ake already we see what happens with some players, but there is a change in this moment, and the moment when the window closes we need to be good enough to find as soon as possible solutions for the players, for the team. But we are in a moment where players who have been here for many years have already left or can leave, that means that there's going to be a change and we're going to try to do our best."

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca, asked whether Tijani Reijnders' situation resembles that of Omar Marmoush and James Trafford insofar as last season influenced this one:
"Probably, yes. As I said, they all work every day, they do sessions every day and at the end of the week they all want to play a game. When they don't play, they struggle to understand or see the reason why. I can understand that after one season, some of them would like to play a little bit more. It's a normal situation."
On whether he has been able to convince him to stay:
"It's a bit dificult to convince players when they are already convinced, it's not always easy. It's Tijani's situation. I think when the club, players, manager, they all think in the same way, that is probably the best decision for a player to go? They go."
On how he would have liked to have used Reijnders this season:
"Tij is not officially done, but we'll see in the next hour. I already spoke with him a few times in pre-season, then we will see if he is going to leave or if he is going to stay, we try to... In the way he was playing in the pre-season games, I was quite happy with his performance overall. I know Tij from Italy, from Milan when he was there so I know him quite well. I know there he was playing in a different position, he likes to play a little more deep rather than high up the pitch, but again in the pre-season he was good, then we'll see what happens and we'll decide."
