There's never a dull night on Planet Championship, even when we only had three matches.

Quality goals, red cards, missed opportunities and talking points galore - exactly what we all came for.

We'll be back on Friday night for the mouthwatering clash between now second-placed West Ham and Wrexham before a 10-match Saturday slate including a lunchtime showdown between the new leaders, West Brom, and QPR, who are among the other fast starters. Can't wait.

James Morrison can do no wrong.

After steering Albion away from the precipice last season he has them top of the Championship after six games.

They did it the hard way, grinding out a 1-0 win at Derby, playing with 10 men for over an hour.

QPR and Charlton are two points back after their stalemate at the Valley while Norwich are up to ninth after seeing off Birmingham 2-1.

Blues are 15th after seeing their unbeaten start ended while Derby are a point off the bottom after a fourth defeat in their six matches.

I would be encouraged if I was a QPR fan but they're missing a cutting edge in the final third and that goes down to the stubbornness of Charlton and I commend that.

Charlton had chances themselves and this was a game that has various aspects to it.

Both managers will be satisfied. Are there aspects for both side to improve on? Absolutely.

They might feel it the morning but they won't mind.

This has been a backs to the wall performance from Albion. The biggest thing for me was they played as a unit. Everyone in the side worked their socks off for each other.

James Morrison will be so proud of those players and I'd love to be in that dressing room in the next few minutes because it'll be the best place on earth.

They've showed character and commitment and they're playing for the manager.

A London derby stalemate.

QPR had 72% possession and the better of the chances but could not capitalise.

Paul Smyth spurned the best moment of the game for the Rs when he went clean through but fired at the legs of Addicks goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo.

Nathan Jones might make a claim that Tyreece Campbell was onside after his first-half goal was ruled out.

All in all, not a game that will live long in the memory but both sides remain within two points of the top of the table.

Ronnie Edwards shoots from 30 yards out for QPR... nope. Not troubling the stewards, let alone Arthur Okonkwo.

Karlan Grant tries to race in behind for Charlton but is pulled back by Dennis Cirkin.

The ref waves play on though and Nathan Jones looks livid on the sidelines.

Three minutes added on at The Valley. Any heroes in the ranks for a late winner?

The match momentum data is heavily in favour of QPR tonight.

But they haven't found the back of the net so it counts for very little.

A frustrating night for the Rs unless they can find a late winner here. Charlton will probably be happy with a point based on how this game has panned out.

Millenic Alli is on for the last few minutes for Charlton as Tyreece Campbell makes way.

Charlton work perhaps their best chance of the second half as Joe Rankin-Costello finds a yard of space on the edge of the area to get a shot away.

It's blocked by the sliding Amadou Mbengue and strikes his arm. The Addicks appeal for a penalty but that would've been harsh.

QPR debutant Leon Scarlett was born in 2009. That'll make you feel old.

He almost carves out an opening here for the Hoops, smashing across the face of goal but this time Arthur Okonkwo is out to claim low down.

Is there a match winner? Is there going to be a late mistake or lapse in concentration from somebody?

Another Charlton change now as Oliver Skipp is replaced by Alan Mwamba.

So close to an opener for QPR.

Amadou Mbengue does well to beat Amari'i Bell on the right and flashes it across the six-yard box but Rumarn Burrell, at full stretch, cannot quite get a toe on it to poke it home.

Agonising stuff for the Rs.

QPR have the joint-best defence so far this season along with Swansea City with just four goals conceded.

What they would give for just one goal here at the other end though to take all three points in this London derby.

Charlton have defended pretty well to be fair, even if they've offered very little going forward in the second period.

QPR win a 12th corner of the night but again it comes to nothing. The visitors have rarely threatened from their set pieces tonight, which may be a slight frustration for boss Julien Stephan.
