England's Morgan Rogers, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "It's been a great night, incredible night, incredible team performance.

"You could see the togetherness, how we wanted to play. This is what we were about, and everyone at the top of their game, and that's what we can do.

"We know we can do that to a top opposition as well. So, it's a benchmark for how we want to play moving forward, and what the level that we can produce."

On Croatia: "Well, a couple of months ago playing in the World Cup, and we had a difficult first game. And you can see the quality of them, so that just shows the level we're playing at and the level we're at.

"The confidence we're playing with, and how we've got a real togetherness and team spirit, and players coming on the bench and wanting to impact as well.

"That makes a massive difference as well. So, I think we're in a really good place at the moment."

This team is going to play consistently now. Anthony Gordon is going to start every game. Bukayo Saka is going to start every game on the right. Jude Bellingham is going to be number 10, nailed on.

That area of the pitch is functioning in a high level way and it's a rhythm.

England midfielder Alex Scott, speaking to ITV: "No better feeling first start with a win like that is amazing. The quality in this squad you can see from the first minute the lads we've got in the front line are pretty deadly. Scoring goals with them is pretty easy. It was a great performance from everyone. Defensive line, me and Elliot [Anderson] in midfield. We really wanted to push them as much as possible and we did that today."

On Harry Kane: "H is unbelievable. I knew he was ridiculous. I've been watching him since I was a little boy, so I knew his level but up close you can really see his level. That's why he's being spoken up with Ballon d'Ors and things like that. Jude's [Bellingham] the same and [Anthony] Gordon and Bukayo [Saka]. It's frightening the talent we've got in this squad."

On coming up against Luka Modric: "It's pretty surreal to be fair. Probably one of my favourite players growing up because I had seen him as a boy. One of the best players in the the world on his day. To be on the pitch with him and competing is a great honour and thankfully we got the win today."

Why is everyone getting so carried away with this win? It's the same old England year after year. They look like world beaters in friendlies and Nations League, but bottle it when it matters in every major tournament. For example, Argentina and Italy. The constant hype is annoying.

England boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to ITV: "Maybe three minutes after the 3-0 where we had the big mistake [Mateo Kovacic's opportunity] and some easy ball losses, but that was a 90-minute performance at the highest level from everyone.

"From the first until the last minute, everyone who started and everyone came from the bench, it was the highest level and congratulations to the team.

"On an away pitch very, very impressive. We created so many chances. The first 40 minutes we were so fluid from the start. I remember looking at the clock, I thought, 'Wow, this is a good three minutes', then looked again and it was a good seven minutes.

"It just never stopped. We kept the pace up and played through the gaps. We were very clinical. Stayed hungry in our counter-pressing and defending, so we did the basics right. I love the attitude. We always played humble and always got the basics right and that's why it was a complete performance."

England captain Harry Kane, speaking to ITV: "Unbelievable from start to finish. We spoke a lot about having a 90-minute game from start to finish, being completely dominant with the ball and without the ball. That was it right there. We're at our best when we're free and when we're physically overpowering and making it a Premier League level. You saw that out there today. They couldn't live with our pace, with our runs.

"There was freedom. All four [himself, Gordon, Bellingham and Saka] of us are good players, and we can play in the 10 pocket, we can play as a nine. It is so hard for the opposition to pick it up. The bottom line is if you lose the ball, we're all smart enough and good enough to cover midfield or defence. That is the way we want to play. It was so hard for them to pick a man and press.

"Every man was at the highest level. It was an important game, they rested a lot of players on Tuesday. I feel they saw this as their best opportunity to get into those top two spots. During the week beautiful weather, an amazing hotel, looking out to the ocean. We could have fallen into that holiday mode. An unusual camp for us. We have never been away that long. The perfect end to the week."

On aiming to equal Peter Shilton's all-time record of 125 caps for England: "Would be nice. That is why he takes me off, to save me for the next one!"

England goalscorer Bukayo Saka, speaking to ITV: "It was an amazing night for us. We came out from the start we were top. We played with high energy, high spirit and we punished them and we enjoyed that performance.

"It was special and it was really fun to play. We played with energy and we were really clinical today, so that made a difference.

"Two goals for England is always a nice feeling, so I'm really happy with that.

"I think we showed the hunger, the passion and the quality that we have. It was a mixture of everything. It's everything we're looking for [from] an English performance tonight, so we're really proud and we want to finish strongly on Tuesday now."

On Jude Bellingham's performance: "He was amazing tonight to be fair. He deserved [England] player of the year and he probably deserves man of the match tonight as well. He was special. Happy to play with him and happy to have him in the England team."

On Anthony Gordon's Englamnd form: "Another player who's also on fire in an England shirt. It's nice to have players like that around you and put in performances like tonight."

On tonight being a big step in qualification: "There's still three games left but that will definitely give us a massive boost in confidence and momentum."
