Steve Clarke's side play in a Hampden send-off friendly against World Cup-bound Curacao at 13:00 BST on Saturday, 30 May.

Then they head off to the US to continue their preparations with another warm-up game against Bolivia in New Jersey the following weekend.

The Scots will then set up camp at the home of Charlotte FC before they kick off their tournament against Haiti in Boston.

Morocco, again in Boston, before a glamour encounter with Brazil in Miami follow.

It's all starting to feel very real.

Scotland's goalkeeping trio - Craig Gordon, Angus Gunn and Liam Kelly - have played 15 games between them this season.

Maybe Oli McBurnie is one of the names on it?

Who else could be on there? Maybe Stephen Welsh as a back-up option at centre-back?

That wraps up Steve Clarke's media conference.

The Scotland boss seems in high spirits, despite his bank balance taking a bit of a hit.

Clarke's message to the Tartan Army: "Go out there and enjoy yourself. Do what you always do and give us 100% backing.

"The American public will love them."

Another moment of levity in the auditorium down in the bowels of Hampden.

Steve Clarke is reminded about the expense the Tartan Army is having to go to in their support of the team in Boston and Miami (and potentially beyond).

"I know," he says with a huge smile on his face.

"I’m taking all my family - it's pretty expensive!"

Clarke was asked about the scenario of a late injury: "There will be a standby list and players will be told they are on that list.

"We're not asking them not to enjoy their summer, but to stay in reasonable shape just in case.

"You can replace until 24 hours before the first game in case of a serious injury."

Scotland boss Clarke: "I haven't had one [fan] who's given me any stick, so that makes a change. The fans have been great, everybody has been great. Everybody is grateful to this squad of players."

And on injured Tommy Conway: "I spoke to Tommy, he's devastated with the injury. Very disappointing that he's missed out. It's unfortunate, we talked about it at length."

More from Clarke on Curtis: "Young players need to play football. If they want to improve, they have to play.

"Sometimes that can involve making big decisions. For Findlay to leave Rangers in January and go to Kilmarnock, and then you have the ability to back up that decision, things can work in your favour."

Clarke was asked about Findlay Curtis' reaction to being included: "I don't tell them, I let their clubs tell them. I just put the squad out this morning.

"Findlay was hopefully jumping around the living room, or wherever he is in the world. He's probably on holiday.

"Impressions when I brought him in in March - he fitted in very well. He's got something a little bit different to what we've got.

"He's shown he can score a goal, he's finished the season in a great place and it's nice to have a young one in the squad."

More from Scotland boss Clarke: "I had five very difficult conversations [with players who didn't make it].

"I know how they'll be feeling. [Lennon Miller] had been in a few squads, maybe felt he was going to be a regular.

"I felt with the balance of the midfield it was better to take an extra forward than a midfield player."

Clarke was asked about Lawrence Shankland and the end to Hearts' season: "I've got no fears about any of my players leading the line.

"Lawrence and his club have had a fantastic season, obviously it ended in a bit of heartbreak at the weekend.

"In my experience, footballers are very resilient. It will take him a few days and a few conversations. He needs to decompress a little bit now and be ready to have an impact on the World Cup this summer."

On Ross Stewart, Scotland boss Clarke says: "It's a good story, Ross. He was in my squad a few years ago, showed he could come up to this level.

"He's had a terrible run with injury, but from January onwards he's hit a rich vein of form.

"He's shown he can score big goals in big games. The Arsenal game in the cup showed he can have an impact on games of that level.

"He's a striker in form, so I decided to add him to the group.

"I put a lot of importance on characters in the group. You need good relationships."

Scotland head coach Clarke: "The magnitude of the event has become more and more clear to me as I've travelled across America.

"Everybody seems to be very excited about it. I understand the responsibility we've got to produce our very best."

A packed Hampden auditorium is silenced as Steve Clarke walks in.

Early questions about the goalkeeping situation - he's expecting Craig Gordon to be fit.

Scotland boss Clarke on goalkeeping situation: "Always difficult when you have goalkeepers not playing regularly.

"As long as they are working to their maximum in training, you feel they can come in and play for a number of games.

"We've had good reports back from Hearts, he's training very well, he assures us he's fully fit.

"He's shown a tremendous resilience. He deserves to be there. If he was to struggle, we have the option to change them.

Clarke also confirms he will take a young, training goalkeeper with the squad as a 27th member.
