Diani doesn't slow down and that could've gone anywhere in all honesty. But it doesn't and she goes straight for a walk-in to the net.

Could go either way this one yet. Both sides are eager for these three points.

BBC Sport women’s football news reporter at Etihad Stadium

Summer signing Niamh Charles starts for Manchester City in her first game at the Etihad Stadium for the club.

She’s joined in the starting XI by USA midfielder Sam Coffey, who comes in for Laura Blindkilde Brown.

It’s a dangerous front three with Lauren Hemp, Khadija Shaw and Aoba Fujino all starting.

Manchester City XI: Yamashita, Rose, Greenwood, Mead, Shaw, Hemp, Coffey, Fujino, Charles, Hasegawa, Wamser.

Subs: Cumings, Clinton, Fowler, Wienroither, Casparij, Blindkilde Brown, Beney, Prior, Davies.

There are injuries in defence for Arsenal so Lotte Wubben-Moy retains her place at centre-back.

Anneke Borbe continues to get the nod in goal.

Arsenal XI: Borbe, Fox, Wubben-Moy, Stanway, Williamson, Caldentey, Little, Baum, Batlle, Russo, Cooney-Cross.

    Keira Walsh (80 mins)

The goals keep on coming! And this one will probably seal all three points for Chelsea.

Midfielder Keira Walsh finally has her goal, receiving the ball off Wieke Kaptein on the edge of the box and hammering it into the bottom corner.

Keira Walsh of Chelsea celebrates scoring her team’s second goal with teammate Katie McCabe during the Barclays Women's Super League 2026/27 match between West Ham United and Chelsea FC at Chigwell Construction Stadium on October 04, 2026 in Dagenham, England.Image source, Getty Images
  6. goal

GOAL - Tottenham 1-5 London City Lionessespublished at 15:36 BST

    Kadidiatou Diani (74 mins)

    Lize Kop, look away now.

Alexia Putellas plays a nice ball over the top, looking for Kadidiatou Diani but Kop is well off her line and there to sweep up... or that's the plan.

Instead, she thumps the ball of Diani and the ball flies back towards the Spurs goal so the forward can run onto it and roll it into an empty net.

Best I can do is offer you a Chelsea sub, Steve.

    Katie McCabe replaces Kadeisha Buchanan.

Looking at the West Ham game so far I think I have more chance of having a shot from my armchair here in Sussex than West Ham do. 70mins in and not a single attempt let alone one on target. If you don't shoot you don't score!

    Brighton 3-1 Charlton

Charlton are forced into a change. Hawa Cissoko has injured herself making a successful last-ditch challenge on Olaug Tvedten.

The French defender limps off very gingerly and is replaced by Ellie Mason.

  11. CLOSE!published at 15:35 BST

    Tottenham 1-4 London City Lionesses

Nicole Anyomi has been on the pitch for less than a minute and she so nearly adds a fifth for London City.

Kadidiatou Diani clipped a cross to the back post and Anyomi went for the spectacular with an overhead kick but puts it just wide.

Could she have tried a simpler header?

  12. Postpublished at 15:35 BST

    Aston Villa 1-1 Crystal Palace

Abbie Larkin has come alive since that goal. Villa just can't handle her at the moment.

  13. CLOSE!published at 15:33 BST

    Tottenham 1-4 London City Lionesses

London City try a clever on off the training ground. It doesn't really work and there's a bit of a scrap on the edge of the box before the visitors work the ball right, a cross is dinked in and Grace Geyoro, under pressure, volleys over from six yards out.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:31 BST

    Tottenham 1-4 London City Lionesses

Tottenham have sent Shekiera Martinez on for goalscorer Victoria Pelova but it's London City threatening again.

    They have a free-kick 25 yards out...

  17. Postpublished at 15:30 BST

    Tottenham 1-4 London City Lionesses

Spurs scored four in the second half of their last WSL games and seven after the break in the game before that.

That's something for their fans to cling to as they try to fight back in this one. They do have a corner... but it doesn't even make it into the box as it hits the defender stood just 10 yards away.

Olivia Garcia is some player and, just like she did for Brighton's first two goals, she beats a player and reaches the byline, but this time a recovering defender gets back to tackle her before she can put a cross in.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 15:28 BST

    Aston Villa 1-0 Crystal Palace

Time for Palace to roll the dice as Shanade Hopcroft, Annabel Blanchard and Teyah Goldie are replaced by Sierra Enge, Shannon O'Brien and Molly-Mae Sharpe.

There was a couple of moments after Spurs got the goal where they were really buzzing but it's all gone flat again and London City have regained control of the game.
