Newcastle and Everton to meet at Murrayfield in August

Premier League sides Newcastle United and Everton will face off at Murrayfield this summer as part of their pre-season preparations.
The friendly will take place at the 67,000-seater stadium in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 12 August at 17:15 BST.
Both clubs ended the 2025-26 Premier League campaign on 49 points, with 12th-placed Newcastle finishing a place above Everton on goal difference.
England's top flight resumes on 22 August - 10 days after the teams go head to head at the home of Scottish rugby.

"A fixture like this, in one of the biggest stadiums in the country, will help us continue building towards the start of the campaign," said Everton manager David Moyes.
"Everton has always had a strong connection with Scotland, and we know how well our supporters travel, not just from Merseyside but from across the country."
Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe added: "An exciting test against Premier League opposition at a historic venue like Murrayfield will play an important part in our pre-season preparations.
"I'm sure our fans will bring a special atmosphere to Edinburgh for a fantastic summer away day, giving the players a massive lift as we build towards the new campaign."
