Former Sutton United boss Matt Gray has been appointed manager of National League club Eastleigh.

Richard Hill ended the season in interim charge of Eastleigh following Scott Bartlett's departure in February and guided the club to a final position of 17th, eight points above the relegation zone.

Gray spent more than four years in charge of Sutton and led them into the English Football League for the first time in the club's history in 2021, as well as to an EFL Trophy final in 2022, before leaving in December 2023.

His most recent managerial role was a short spell with National League South club Eastbourne Borough at the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

In a club statement, external, Gray said: "This is a proper football club and it is one with excellent off-the-pitch facilities. Hopefully we will be able to match that with performances on the pitch."
