Ward out to build Barrow momentum after first win

Barrow midfielder Keaton Ward wants to keep the momentum rolling after helping his side end their winless start to the season.

Ward set up the first goal as Barrow defeated Sutton United 3-0 to pick up a first National League victory at the sixth attempt.

The Bluebirds had drawn two and lost three of the previous five as they try to readjust following relegation from League Two.

They had lost leads in the past two matches, so there was also relief at seeing the game out comfortably at Holker Street.

"Getting the duck off your back of not winning in your first five, it's then quite an easy hangover to keep it rolling and picking up points," Ward told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"Now we've got that first win, we just have to build on it and make sure we do it next week and the Tuesday after.

"If we do that, there's not many teams in the division that will be able to stand up to it."
