Barrow will not compete in the National League Cup following their relegation from League Two.
The Bluebirds have cited "significant travel and operational costs", external as their reason not to participate in the competition as they instead concentrate on league performance upon their return to the National League after six years.
The National League Cup sees 16 teams from the National League compete alongside 16 Premier League under-21 sides, with Boreham Wood beating West Ham U21s in last season's final.
However, a number of sides opted not to take part including eventual National League winners York City and Barrow's Cumbrian rivals, Carlisle United.
