Three games completed today in the County Championship, with congratulations to Somerset,Durham and Worcestershire - but there's still plenty to be decided when the action resumes on day four!

Weather permitting, champions Nottinghamshire look well placed to overcome Glamorgan and Hampshire are on top against Yorkshire at Headingley - but which way will the thriller at Hove pan out?

Sussex need 94 runs for their second win of the campaign - five wickets will earn Warwickshire the victory.

It's been a runfest at The Oval so far, with Leicestershire racking up a 171-run lead over Surrey. Could the Foxes' bowlers complete a famous victory on the final day?

In Division Two, it's boiling up towards an exciting finish between Lancashire and Derbyshire at Old Trafford, while Northamptonshire are looking to break the Kent resistance at Canterbury.

Thanks for your company today, have a good night and make sure you join us back here for all the action from 10.40am on Monday!

    Yorks 177 & 65-5 v Hants 251 & 351-5d

Finlay Bean plays out the final three dot balls as day three is brought to a close and there really is nowhere else to start than with Kyle Abbott.

The South African finishes the day with figures of 4-11 from nine overs and it is his impact which leaves Yorks teetering on the brink overnight.

Hants were every bit as effective with the bat, too, in a second innings in which Ben Brown's explosive 103 and Jake Lehmann's 92 built on a good half century from Tom Prest.

It allowed Brown the platform to declare with 29 overs still left in the day and, thanks to Abbott, they have made best use of that time to push their hosts towards oblivion.

Yorks require a notional 426 to win but in reality partnerships in order to survive.

Bean and George Hill are up to three. It is a start but only in as much as booking your flight to Nepal is a start if you are climbing Everest.

  4. Close of play at Old Traffordpublished at 19:15 BST

    Lancs 351 & 147-6 v Derbys 374

Marcus Harris leaves the final delivery from Shoaib Bashir on a tumultuous third day and finishes unbeaten on 58, walking from the middle with Paul Coughlin (35).

Their partnership is up to 69 and the lead to 124 with four second innings wickets remaining. It has been enough to reboot their hopes overnight.

Those hopes were on the floor when Derbys ripped through their top order to reduce them to an effective 0-5 at one stage.

But Harris, first with Tom Hartley, then with Coughlin (who has played an excellent hand) gives them some hope of setting a target which at least could take defeat off the table.

For Derbys Mo Abbas and Ben Aitchison with the new ball and Zak Chappell with three wickets which reduced Lancs from 23-2 to 23-5, provided more than glimmer of hope.

They remain in the driving seat if they take early wickets on day four, but everything remains on the table.

    Kent 178 & 162-3 v Northants 684-2 dec

Calvin Harrison is appealing for an lbw against second night-watchman Jas Singh, but it's not out and Kent limp to the close.

From 159-1 to 162-3, Northants have turned the screw in the last 20 minutes and they will be confident of finishing the job tomorrow.

But Ben Compton has resisted well to be 70 not out. He is surely the key for Kent tomorrow.

While Harrison probably needs a good night's kip. He's had 18 overs today and will probably be busy again in the morning.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19:04 BST

    Milnes b Harrison 0 (Kent 178 & 160-3 v Northants 684-2 dec)

That sense of late-evening theatre produces the wicket for Northants!

Bowing round the wicket, Calvin Harrison spins it through Matt Milnes' defences and removes the off-bail.

Milnes needs to check with partner Ben Compton if he's out and after getting the bad news, he makes his way off.

You can't beat a legspin bowler! Harrison is rewarded in his 17th over.

  7. Postpublished at 19:03 BST

    Kent 178 & 160-2 v Northants 684-2 dec

Matt Milnes is on night-watchman duty for Kent.

Calvin Harrison is bowling his leggies and the bat is crowded.

  8. Close of play at Trent Bridgepublished at 19:01 BST

    Glamorgan 132-2 v Nottinghamshire - Target 478

Glamorgan are battling in their second innings having seen off the final session of seven overs.

Asa Tribe has been especially impressive, proving he can score runs in division one. He's 18 away from what would be a fourth first class century in only his 18th game.

It's surely about whether Glamorgan can bat through the final day to save the game.

Nottinghamshire will hope they don't regret using up time by continuing for eight overs with a rather fruitless last wicket stand at the start of Day Three.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19:00 BST

    Cliff lbw b Abbott 0 (Yorks 62-5 – Target 426)

It does not get much straighter or more plumb than that and Kyle Abbott has a second in the over as Yorks' wobble becomes a blur.

Ben Cliff has been caught cold by that one. Just too good, too quick and the batsman has no answer.

Abbott's figures in this innings are 8-5-9-4.

  10. Postpublished at 18:58 BST

Lancs 142-6 (lead by 116 runs)

Big appeal for a catch off Zak Chappell's short ball but replays show this has missed Paul Coughlin's bat and hit the helmet.

It has looped up and is taken by Brooke Guest behind the stumps.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18:55 BST

    Revis b Abbott 9 (Yorks 62-4 – Target 426)

The hole gets bigger for Yorks...

This is just angled in slightly and perhaps kept a little low but Matthew Revis is late on his defence and Kyle Abbott has another.

Abbott has 3-9 in this innings and will be looking for another before the close.

  12. Postpublished at 18:53 BST

    Yorks 177 & 61-3 v Hants 251 & 351-5d

Just nine runs added by Finlay Bean and Matt Revis since the departure of James Wharton five overs ago and survival has been the name of the game.

If this pair can get to the close that will be a first job done but Yorks still have a long, long way to go to get a draw from this contest.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18:52 BST

    Northeast c Bartlett b Sales 69 (Kent 178 & 159-2 v Northants 684-2 dec)

The breakthrough in the closing embers of day three for Northants!

They have really toiled in this final session but James Sales does it, removing Sam Northeast.

The batter was hit on the head the ball before and needed treatment to check if he is OK to continue.

He gets the green light but the very next ball, he swivels and pulls it to leg gully, where George Bartlett is well positioned to take a good catch.

    Lancs 351 & 131-6 v Derbys 374

Lancashire are the weakest team in the country, considering their resources, is a shock. Awful under pressure in both winning and losing situations.

    Paul, Preston

Lancashire should certainly be doing better, considering their resources.

What feels said is that new signing Ajeet Singh Dale has been rotated out for this game and you watch Gloucestershire this season and they are crying out for Championship-standard bowlers.

  15. Postpublished at 18:49 BST

    Lancs 351 & 131-6 v Derbys 374

Marcus Harris and Paul Coughlin have built a 50-run partnership since the fall of Tom Hartley and their stand has removed the sting from the Derbys attack.

There are just over four overs left in the day and if these two can make the close unbroken it will do wonders for Lancs spirits overnight.

  16. Postpublished at 18:49 BST

    Glamorgan 120-2 v Nottinghamshire - Target 478

Glamorgan have survived the first four overs of the awkward session following the resumption.

Asa Tribe has been more circumspect after playing brightly earlier as he continues his excellent innings of 79 not out.

Three overs to go on Day Three.

  17. 150 runs

    150 partnershippublished at 18:44 BST

    Kent 178 & 153-1 v Northants 684-2 dec

James Sales sends one legside but Sma Northeast almost clips to leg gully, but it beats the fielder and the four resulting runs take this total past 150.

And they collect four off the next over from the part-time bowling of Nathan McSweeney to take this partnership up to 150.

Fine stuff from Northeast and Ben Compton.

  18. Close of play at The Ovalpublished at 18:43 BST

    Surrey 520 v Leics 691

Leicestershire's first innings is finally over as Tom Scriven is bowled for 11 by Matt Fisher, with just two balls left in the day.

That means Surrey will begin their second innings in the morning, trailing by 171.

A huge effort with the bat by the Foxes, with three centurions - Rishi Patel, Ben Cox and Stephen Eskinazi.

  19. Postpublished at 18:42 BST

    Lancs 351 & 126-6 v Derbys 374

A big shout against Paul Coughlin who is aiming to clip off his legs and missing and certainly Mo Abbas is frustrated not to get that one

Not out is the verdict though and Coughlin's spirited and energetic innings continues.

He is on 26 (from 35 balls) and has been no less crucial than Marcus Harris in getting Lancs back into this contest.

Lancs are 103 ahead with four wickets remaining but you would think they will need 200 to have a good chance in this contest.

  20. Postpublished at 18:35 BST

    Surrey 520 v Leics 686-9

No hat-trick for Tom Lawes, but he's still got the chance of an unexpected five-wicket haul if he can nab this final Leicestershire wicket.

The Foxes' lead is 166 and there are two overs remaining tonight.
