    50 fro James Coles

    Sussex 166-7 (lead by 264 runs)

    James Coles has not hung around through the 40s and a couple of boundaries, the second pouncing on a short ball to pull to square leg, has brought up his half century.

    His 52 has come in 89 balls and has contained seven fours.

    His partnership with Jack Carson which yielded a quickfire 63 has turned this match back towards his team when it looked like it was slipping away at 90-6.

  2. Durham start second innings

    Northants 263 v Durham 205 & 5-0

    Ben Sanderson opens the bowling in Durham's second innings as the home side hunt early wickets.

    The lead on first innings is 58 - so they'd love to get a few before that's wiped out to pile the pressure on the Division Two leaders.

    Alex Lees sees out the first over without alarm as Durham make a calm start.

    Ben McKinney gets one with a bit of width from Luke Procter at the start of the second and he larrops it through backward point to the fence.

    That's four dismissively chipped off the deficit.

    Rehan Ahmed may hold the key to a Leicestershire comeback

    Two of Leicestershire's bright young things have been tasked with rebuilding their innings today after two late wickets last night.

    Rehan Ahmed, you will know, the England international has played some swashbuckling cuts and pulls, and looks in good touch. You can tell he's playing well when he starts playing flamingo shots off the back foot, raising his back leg.

    At the other end is Josh Hull - also a test capped international. He is a proper number 11 really, but has batted with real diligence and resilience. He has frustrated Notts no end this morning - blocking well and, put simply, not getting out.

    He's tried a few booming drives which he was a few miles away from, but other than that he's blocked and defended with real purpose.

    There's a long way to go, but fears The Foxes might be skittled this morning have faded.

    Glamorgan’s batting struggles since the resumption of Championship cricket continue, with Somerset set for a three-day win in Taunton.

    Only Asa Tribe, with 49, has got going for Glamorgan before the spin wiles of Jack Leach proved too much as he edged to slip.

    With Leach wheeling away happily from the river end and three seamers alternating menacingly from the Trescothick end, there has been little relief.

    Supporters of both teams could be forgiven for looking at other scores already - with very different hopes as Somerset battle at the top and Glamorgan hoping their drop in form does not bring a relegation struggle.

    It takes Ollie Pope two balls before he clips George Hill off his toes for a maximum.

    A dot but no wicket for Balderson as Toby Roland-Jones pulls it to deep midwicket but turns down the single.

    Zaman Ahkter fires one in that keeps low and Jack Carson cannot get his bat down in time and a good innings comes to an end.

    That has been an aggressive knock with 42 coming from 37 balls with six fours and two sixes and it has yanked the game into Sussex's control.

    Rory Burns is squared up by George Hill and edges to Dom Bess at slip.

    Ollie Pope in now and his innings could be critical.

    And it is two in two for George Balderson who traps Tom Helm leg before first ball. The Middx man felt it was high but Simon Widdup was pretty convinced that was good.

    Balderson will be on a hat-trick at the start of his next over.

    And that's that.

    An unfair fight to be honest. Last man Yuzvendra Chahal backs away a touch to his first ball from Matthew Potts, exposing his stumps - which are duely rearranged.

    He's not paid to score runs Chahal, his day job's with the ball. And he showed in the first dig, he's worth every penny.

    Potts ends with 4-49.

    Northants have a 58-run lead.

    A good catch at the second attempt by Matty Hurst, standing up to the medium pace of George Balderson.

    The Lancs keeper juggles it high then takes a calm catch at the second attempt.

    Slapped on the up. Swallowed at mid-off.

    Ben Sanderson's ambition gets the better of him.

    To be fair it's a handsome stroke - driving on the up - to a decent length ball from Matthew Potts but it's a bit toe-ey rather than out the middle.

    That, and it's straight at Ben Stokes at mid-off.

    He doesn't drop many. Including that one.

    Durham nearly there now.

    A frustrating opening hour of play for Nottinghamshire as Leicestershire pair Josh Hull (nine from 37 balls) and Rehan Ahmed (30 from 43 balls) stand firm out in the middle.

    They've added 39 runs in the past 60 minutes and are digging in as their team need them to do in the current situation.

    This is moving away as soon as it leaves Jimmy Anderson's hand and Ryan Higgins tries to follow it but is always just inside the movement.

    The edge gives a straightforward catch to Matty Hurst behind the stumps.

    Craig Overton goes round the wicket and Colin Ingram steps into a defensive push but is undone by a hint of movement away and offers up a straight edge which is snaffled by James Rew.

    Somerset are all over Glam here and charging towards a 23 points win.

    It's been slow going for Surrey since they lost their first two wickets in quick succession to Jack White who's bowled uninterrupted for the first hour.

    Rory Burns and Josh Blake have ticked off the 50 landmark.

    135 more needed and 8 wickets required by Yorkshire.

    Another for George Balderson who benefits from a slight inside edge which deflects on to the stumps. Just a hint of seam in towards the stumps does the trick.
