    There's the century!

    One delivery after almost being dismissed, Kusal Mendis reaches his hundred with a four down the ground.

    It's his seventh ODI hundred and his first against England, it comes up off 82 balls - his first fifty was off 47, so he has accelerated.

    It was a bit strange as only a couple of England players seemed particularly interested.

    There was nothing in it and there was no real appeal. That didn't look right. The keeper didn't appeal. Joe Root got excited, and then up went the finger!

    A single from Pavan Rathnayake off Jamie Overton brings the Sri Lanka skipper back on strike and, having faced one dot, sees a delivery scud past his outside edge.

    Jos Buttler throws the ball in the air and after a pause the umpire's finger goes up.

    Kusal reviews immediately.

    Kusal Mendis will be thinking we cannot lose two wickets together.

    He will allow Pavan Rathnayake to play himself in.

    Gus Atkinson has been very good in terms of his bowling figures.

    Partnership broken!

    Kamindu Mendis skies Gus Atkinson up into the air towards mid-on.

    It's Harry Brook stationed there and turns towards the crowd as the ball drops to take the catch over his shoulder.

    Kamindu goes for 54, the partnership with was worth 137 - England really needed that breakthrough.

    Great opportunity, and great situation to be from Sri Lanka's point of view.

    And sometimes it's the edge that gives you the best result, its fascinating to see the speed of the outfield and the ball never slowed down.

    I also liked the way Kamindu Mendis approached his innings, allowing Kusal Mendis to play freely and continue the flow of runs.

    Josh Tongue draws a thick outside from Kusal Mendis, sending past Jamie Overton at short third.

    Overton and Will Jacks give chase, but can't stop the ball reaching the boundary - that takes the Sri Lanka captain into the nineties.

    Kusal adds four more from the following delivery, trying to play behind square on the off side but a bit edge-y, with the ball going to the ropes via an empty cordon region.

    One further single takes Kusal to 97.

    After a few steam-rollings, I'm not devastated at the idea of a high score and a big chase!

    Gus Atkinson is back.

    Kusal Mendis sends his first ball through backward point for three before Kamindu Mendis runs a swift single into the covers.

    Tom Banton doesn't collect the ball cleanly, but recovers well enough to throw down the striker's stumps and keep Kusal on his toes.
