Summary

Have your say on England men this summer

No, it's pitching outside leg stump.

    England lose the review.

  2. England reviewpublished at 10.1 overs

    Is this the fourth?!

There's not much of an appeal from Robinson after striking Saud Shakeel on the back leg, but it's enough to convince Joe Root to send it upstairs.

  3. Pak 22-3published at 10 overs

    Target 389

Shan Masood is squared up by another ferocious Jofra Archer bouncer, and sensibly gets himself off strike next ball with a dab into the covers.

How long does Joe Root keep Archer and Robinson going? There's half an hour to go until lunch.

Bowling unit improving, need a slow, spin option. Batting needs to look at lasting more than 100 overs in the first innings, if they do that the bowlers are good enough to do the rest more often than not.

  5. Pak 19-3published at 9 overs

    Target 389

Saud Shakeel gets a huge stride forward when defending in order to smother the ball from its seam movement.

While the bowlers have been fantastic, a word for Jamie Smith, too - he's been up to the stumps to Robinson with the ball doing all sorts, and has handled it very, very well.

I'm disappointed with how Babar Azam was dismissed. The field was set up for that kind of length and he wasn't really up for it. It was ugly.

Ollie Robinson's bowling Test average is now under 20, again highlighting the baffling folly of his banishment by McCullum and Stokes.

Ollie Robinson's stunning summer continues now with 21 wickets in the three Tests in 2026 at an unreal average of 8.3.

If you thought that was unreal, with deliveries projected to hit the stumps in Tests this year Robinson averages 1.57 with figures of 14-22. Yes, that's an average of 1.57 - a wicket once in every five such deliveries.

I had to rub my eyes 23,787 times to see if I was reading that right! Robinson with deliveries projected to hit the stumps in Tests in 2026. 22 runs, 14 wickets, 72 balls, 1.57 average

  9. Pak 18-3published at 8 overs

    Target 389

    Gorgeous shot.

Pakistan have got to keep looking to score when they're offered a chance. Saud Shakeel gets off the mark with a lovely back-foot punch for four, much to Jofra Archer's frustration.

This is a brute. Babar Azam gets himself in a really awkward position.

He ends up with the ball hitting his glove. It's really poorly played. It goes off the glove, off the helmet then balloons to Jordan Cox.

This is ugly for Pakistan. The best player is trudging back to the pavilion.

If it was Babar or bust, well it's bust.

    Another one goes for Pakistan.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.1 overs

    Babar c Cox b Archer 6 (Pak 14-3)

    Three down!

This is ruthless from England. There's Ollie Robinson's relentless accuracy from one end, and the fiery pace of Jofra Archer at the other.

Babar Azam is caught off guard by a nasty short ball, and he has very little time to get out of the way. He ends up half-leaving and half-pulling, and the top edge loops up to Jordan Cox in the slips.

I've just seen a replay of the Shafique dismissal to Ollie Robinson. It was a beauty.

I don't like Ollie Robinson's celebration for those two wickets, going down the wicket. You have Pakistan where you want them, you don't have to give them a send-off.

I don't mind an aggressive bowler as long as he does it against everyone, not just when it's easy like this.

  14. Pak 14-2published at 7 overs

    Target 389

A rare error from Ollie Robinson, drifting onto the pads and Babar Azam helps it on its way for four down to fine leg.

That wicket of Abdullah Shafique was his 97th in Tests. This summer alone, he has 21 wickets in three Tests at an average just over eight. Unbelievable.

I've got a feeling from Babar that he wants to play some shots. You'd rather have him do something and have a go. They have to try something.

  17. Pak 9-2published at 6 overs

And now the swing from Jofra Archer to contend with.

Babar Azam plays and misses outside the off stump. Pakistan need a miracle from their captain here.

It's gone straight through him. Straight between bat and pad. Two wickets in the over and Pakistan are already reeling here.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5 overs

    Shafique b Robinson 0 (Pak 7-2)

    Wow. Keep that out.

Unplayable from Ollie Robinson, very little that Abdullah Shafique could've done early in his innings. More extravagant movement off the surface and it skids between bat and pad to clip the top of off stump.

    Pakistan in real trouble.
