Have your say on England men this summer

  1. Eng 185-5published at 18 overs

Slapped to the boundary by Sam Curran.

A bit of a freebie from Harshit Rana with the fourth ball of his over and left-handed all-rounder pings it to the fence.

The 200-mark within sight for England now.

    It's a merciless occupation being a T20 bowler.

  3. Eng 174-5published at 17.1 overs

Harshit Rana's hat-trick ball is full and wide and Sam Curran opens the face and guides it through the vacant third region for four.

    Nicely played.

Phil Salt does struggle against slower spin. In T20 internationals, he averages below 8 against it now, with an economy just above a run a ball.

  5. 6 runs

    Eng 170-5published at 17 overs

Bigger still from Will Jacks, who is down on one knee and slog sweeps Axar Patel about 20 rows back.

  6. 6 runs

    Eng 164-5published at 16.4 overs

A big 'un from Will 'the finisher' Jacks.

Steps across to Axar Patel and hammers it for six over deep square leg.

Phil Salt takes the bait from Axar.

First ball goes for six, but this is slower and wider.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.2 overs

    Salt c Arshdeep b Patel 70 (Eng 158-5)

Axar Patel outfoxes Phil Salt next ball, though.

The India left-arm spinner cannily tosses it up, holding the pace off, and Salt throws the kitchen sink attempting to smash it into next week.

A top edge spoons up to Arshdeep Singh at point.

Salt does a jump of frustration.

  9. 6 runs

    Eng 158-6published at 16.1 overs

    Fetch that.

Big helping of bottom hand from Phil Salt and he clubs Axar Patel over long-on for six.

  10. Eng 152-4published at 16 overs

Varun Chakravarthy manages to keep the boundary count down in the remainder of the over.

    Phil Salt on strike.

  11. Eng 149-4published at 15.3 over

Sam Curran with the perfect riposte to Ben's number crunching.

An inventive flat-batted drive down the ground brings him four off Varun Chakravarthy before pinching a single.

Sam Curran's death hitting has not been great for England. From 237 balls faced in the last five overs of the innings, his strike rate is only 141 - solid, but not exceptional. Curran may need Will Jacks to do the heavy lifting at the back end.

Sorry, what was it Jack and David said at 17.39 about Phil Salt? A very good job he's doing out there today.

Salt was thrashing at it earlier.

Now he's into his innings, he's timing the ball nicely.

  15. Eng 144-4published at 15 overs

Handy from Phil Salt who again steps across and flicks Arshdeep Singh off his heels behind square for four.

Salt flashes at a wider one - his bottom hand coming off the bat - to pick up a single and keep the strike.

    Five overs to go.

  16. 6 runs

    Eng 137-4published at 14.4 overs

Arshdeep Singh with three singles to start the over before Phil Salt steps across his stumps and heaves the left-arm quick into the stands for six.

England need a late surge to get up near the 200 mark. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will be eyeing up these shorter boundaries, you would imagine.

  17. Eng 128-4published at 14 overs

Arshdeep Singh returns with six overs to go.

Harshit Rana, who still has one over to bowl, is held back so we'll have to wait a little longer to see his hat-trick ball.

Axar Patel into the attack for India.
