Over the summer, Ollie Robinson has had 28 wickets with an average of 7.8, bowling 100 overs. Only three players in Test history have had a season average beneath ten whilst bowling over 100 overs in England.

Joe Root goes up to Theo Wylie at the end of the over to make sure he's alright. He puts an arm around him and pats him on the back. A lovely touch.

It is one of those weird things about cricket that Englahd have two subfielders on - a 21-year-old and a 20-year-old, neither of whom are even regulars for their county.

I've been thinking about this, Butters. I do think he's been unlucky. He did get five wickets against New Zealand at Lord's.

Gus Atkinson is on for his first bowl of the day. Somehow he still only has one wicket in the series.

It's been a good start from Pakistan, they're showing some spirit.

Azan Awias drives Josh Tongue through the covers with a flourish. If there has been a positive for Pakistan amid the mess around it, it has probably been 21-year-old Awais.

Jofra Archer has just tried Stuart Broad's bail trick which tells you how it is going for England but also suggests something about how the series has gone as a whole. 45 minutes feels like a lifetime.

England have Warwickshire 19-year-old Tazeem Ali on as sub fielder and he's right into the action. Azan Awais pushes into the leg side and it would have been close had Tazeem's throw hit.

Instead Awais survives but will have to continue with a muddy jumper.

This isn't a bad thing for England. They're having to work a bit harder here. We know that there's harder challenges ahead, South Africa, Bangladesh. It's not coming as easy as it did in the first innings.

Would you believe it? One ball after Joe Root moves Ben Duckett from third slip to leg slip, the ball flies in the first of those positions off the edge of Shan Masood's bat.

Root turns away in dismay.

The average score for Pakistan before the fall of the second wicket in this series is 9.3 for two. It's the worst such figure by any team in a Test series in more than one match in the history of Test cricket. A total of 56 runs for their opening stand and second wicket stands across the six innings of this series.

After another over along a similar theme with Ollie Robinson failing to find any movement through the air, Josh Tongue is coming on to provide a bit of ooomph.

Who was expecting Pakistan to be five down by now?

Joe Root's hands go over his mouth as Ollie Robinson's twice goes close to the breakthrough with his probing line outside off stump. There's an appeal for lbw too but consensus seems to be it would be sliding down to miss leg stump. It was certainly high.
