"We're playing the same team as the last game. We played a very good game in the last game - we did all three parts well. Hopefully we start well today and do the basics very well because that is very important."

That feels like a big blow for Rehan Ahmed. This was supposed to be his opportunity with Adil Rashid out injured. He has been dropped before the series is out.

England captain Harry Brook: "It looks like a good wicket so hopefully we can put some pressure on them in the first innings.

"We're making three changes. Jordan Cox in for the injured Jos Buttler, Liam Dawson in for Rehan Ahmed and Sonny Baker in for Josh Tongue. Baker was on absolute heat in the T20s so it felt like a good opportunity to of freshen Tonguey up.

"This is will be a good sign of where we are as a team and as individuals. Good opportunity against a good Sri Lanka team to see where we are."
