We move to the track for the first time tonight with the three men's 110m hurdles semi-finals.

Great Britain's Tade Ojora and Sam Bennett, who won silver at the Commonwealths, go in the first and third race respectively.

France's 2022 bronze medallist Just Kwaou-Mathey is the fastest entrant this year with a time of 13.20 sec. while Spain’s Enrique Llopis and Swiss record holder Jason Joseph earned European silver and bronze respectively in Rome two years ago. Meanwhile Poland’s Jakub Szymanski is the reigning world and European champion indoors.

Two qualifiers from each race go through automatically to the final at 21:45 BST and they will be joined by the next two fastest runners from across the semi-finals.

Keeley Hodgkinson has felt he crowd, felt the track and settled the nerves and she is now into this championship.

Hodgkinson is back in action tomorrow at around 12:10 BST in 800m semi-final.

On UK Athletics' World Championships 2029 bid being affected by the success of European Championships...

I mean you have got to see it in a separate way. The bids have been well-thought-out. We have some fantastic people contributing to that. We put our best foot forward.

We work on our strengths, and we know what we can do. We don't need to sell that to World Athletics. They have seen those championships that we're talking about.

It is the fine detail that is going to be worked on from now and September when that announcement will be made, but I think we're in good shape.

I know the athletes know what it can deliver.

Time for some more action - it's the final of the women's hammer.

Finland have never won a European medal in this event but boast the top two entrants this year - Olympic finalist Krista Tervo and former world and European age-level champion Silja Kosonen.

Poland’s 41-year-old world record holder Anita Wlodarczyk is a four-time European gold medallist but had to settle for silver two years ago.

Reading’s Charlotte Payne, who is deaf and had a cochlear implant fitted two years ago, finished fourth at the Commonwealth Games. She’s fifth to throw and ranks ninth among the finalists based on season’s bests.

Christine Ohuruogu was someone who was an unbelievable 400m runner.

She knew how to plan a race perfectly. She could nearly execute every single time without fail. Matt knows what he needs to do.

He cannot get caught up in any of what is going around him, the stadium, the pressure. Run the race he knows, don’t change anything – that’s the big thing.

He is here to win it; he should be able to win it. Stick to that plan, get around and stand on top of the podium.

We have all been around championships and teams. You see someone doing well, and you think I want a bit of that.

Multiple times in my career I would watch others go out there perform, win a medal and stand up on top of the podium. You just feel I want some of that.

It can add pressure at times, but equally you get excited as a team when you go back to the hotel, and everyone is high-fiving and excited.

You’re all friends, we have known each other a long time. When you see your friends doing well, it gives you that extra bit of excitement.

I was a bit surprised, I will confess. Looking around tonight, it could still be better. We get skewed a little bit because we have had packed championships.

The London Diamond League is so busy and it is a one-day meet.

We all know early day championships can struggle.

I would like to have the judgement at the end of the championships.

Here's a reminder of how the medal table looks after two days of the championships.

Great Britain's team tops the standings with two golds and two silvers - Amy Hunt and Romell Glave tasted victory in the women's and men's 100m, while Jeremiah Azu finished second to Glave and the mixed 4x400m team also picked-up a medal.

The men's decathlon got under way earlier today, with three events taking place in the morning session.

Germany's Leo Neugebauer leads the way after the 100m, long jump and shot put, topping the rankings of the latter two disciplines, with a total of 2819 points.

Jeff Tesselaar of the Netherlands (2690) and Norway's Sander Skotheim (2638) follow him, with no British involvement in the 25-man field.

The high jump (18:40 BST) started a little while ago, with the 400m (21:22) to follow later tonight and five more disciplines occurring tomorrow.

You cannot run the 400m flat out...

The terminology 'eyeballs out', but if you run eyeballs out, then you will probably run out of energy at the highway mark.

It is important to get a good start to position yourself. Down the back straight between 100m and 200m you need to relax as you're going to need that energy when you get on the home straight.

Going around the bend it is all about position, so you can have a little look at what's happening.

On the home straight you need to make sure you have enough energy left as lactic acid is going to hit you, no matter who you are.

Max Burgin and Ben Pattison reached Thursday's men’s 800m final in the morning session of day three.

Burgin won his semi-final in a time of one minute 44.73 seconds, while in his semi-final Pattison finished second in 1:43.72 to Ireland’s Mark English, whose 1:43.49 broke a championship record which had stood since 1978.

Zara Obamakinwa, who broke the British U23 record earlier this year, came 20th in the women’s discus throw qualifying with a best throw of 55.17m and will not progress.

Meanwhile Jake Minshull, Joshua Faulds and Alastair Chalmers failed to progress out of an impressive field in the men’s 400m hurdles semi-finals.

Minshull was the best performer of the three, placing fifth in his semi-final and 11th overall with a time of 48.73.

Faulds also finished fifth in the third semi-final of the morning session with a time of 49.26, while Chalmers was seventh in his semi-final in 49.71.
