Available for over a year

A Leicester poet has been nominated for one of the most coveted and influential prizes for poetry in the UK. The 2024 'Forward Prizes for Poetry' shortlists have been revealed ahead of the awards ceremony in October. Toby Campion is Leicester born and bred. He's a poet and playwright and has been shortlisted for the 'Jerwood Prize for Best Single Poem – Performed'. Toby tells Ben Jackson about his poem 'ghazal, screaming', and how a form of slang called 'Polari', which was used as a secret language, inspired it.
