The 2024 'Forward Prizes for Poetry' shortlists have been revealed ahead of the awards ceremony in October.
Toby Campion is Leicester born and bred. He's a poet and playwright and has been shortlisted for the 'Jerwood Prize for Best Single Poem – Performed'.
Toby tells Ben Jackson about his poem 'ghazal, screaming', and how a form of slang called 'Polari', which was used as a secret language, inspired it.
