With the music of the Spice Girls, and the words of Sebastian Coe still ringing in his ears, Dermot thought long and hard about what legacy he could leave after the 2012 Olympics.

Then after yet another night of listening to old tapes of his Radio 1 heroes Gary Davies, DLT and Noel Edmonds - it struck him. He could inspire a new generation of DJs by giving them a slot on his BBC Radio 2 show.
