South Sudan's main opposition party the Sudan People's Liberation Movement in Opposition has withdrawn from the country's peace monitoring body. It accuses rival forces of unprovoked attacks including one assault earlier this week
A gun attack at the entrance to the international airport complex outside the Somali capital, Mogadishu, has left at least eight people dead. A police spokesman told the BBC that five of the dead were foreigners, including an African Union force soldier. The al-Shabab group said it was behind the attack.
