
Ethiopia suspends two NGOs over ‘misinformation’
The Ethiopian government has suspended the operations of two NGOs, the Norwegian Refugee Council and MSF’s Dutch section, accusing them of spreading misinformation.
Ethiopia’s government has suspended the operations of two international aid organisations working in Tigray, where a conflict between federal forces and the TPLF rebel group has been going on for around 10 months. The government has accused the Norwegian Refugee Council and the Dutch section of Medicins Sans Frontieres of disseminating misinformation.
Plus, a look into why Sudan has passed a bill allowing the country to join the International Criminal Court. Deposed former president Omar al-Bashir had been indicted by the ICC, accused of war crimes in Darfur.
