Challenging convention: Meet the new Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman
The new Children's Laureate, Malorie Blackman has some big shoes to fill. She's the eighth author to hold the title, and will be following in the footsteps of writers like Michael Morpurgo, Jacqueline Wilson and Quentin Blake.
Malorie's appointment was only announced on Tuesday 4th June, but she's already set herself some big challenges, including making sure every primary school child in Britain has a library card.
Breakfast’s Bill and Susanna spoke to Malorie about her work and what she hopes to achieve in the role.
Malorie's latest book ‘Noble Conflict’ is released on Thursday 6th June.
