Ardingly 18
In West Sussex, two teams fly around the antiques stalls, while Natasha evokes the golden age of air travel with items donated by British Caledonian cabin crew, pilots and engineers.
In West Sussex, Natasha Raskin Sharp jets off to see a collection of memorabilia from an airline you might remember. At Crawley Museum, she reminisces about British Caledonian Airways – or BCal as it was affectionately known. Items include the tartan uniform worn by cabin crew and copies of the in-flight menu, grandly named la cuisine du ciel.
At nearby Ardingly antiques fair, two teams of bargain hunters hope there’s no turbulence when they go shopping with experts Caroline Hawley and Thomas Forrester. With Caroline, it’s married couple Wendy and Phil, who don’t plan to 'dither', and with Thomas, it’s friends Vic and Tek, who reckon 'there’s no second place'. After 20 minutes, an exasperated Caroline urges her team to explore more than one stall; meanwhile, Thomas isn’t pulling any punches with his blues, rejecting a kitsch kitty biscuit barrel that Vic spots.
With the hour ticking down, Wendy flummoxes her teammates with a piece of art glass in the form of a swan, and Vic and Tek get their own back on Thomas when he puts on a fashion show for them.
