Prokofiev's 'Romeo and Juliet' performed in Dresden

Elizabeth Alker introduces an afternoon of great music-making including performances from the Staatskapelle Dresden and chamber music from across Bavaria.

Elizabeth Alker presents an afternoon of exceptional music-making, featuring recent performances by one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious symphony orchestras, the Staatskapelle Dresden, alongside chamber music from Bavaria.

The programme opens with an orchestral suite of music from Wagner’s Götterdämmerung - The Twilight of the Gods - the concluding part of his epic 'Ring Cycle' of operas performed by the Staatskapelle Dresden under Daniele Gatti. The orchestra returns under Elim Chan for a vivid suite of music from Prokofiev’s ballet 'Romeo and Juliet'.
