James Ehnes joins the BBC Philharmonic in Saint-Saëns' Third Violin Concerto

Elizabeth Alker showcases the best performances from the UK and beyond, including James Ehnes with the BBC Philharmonic in Saint-Saëns' Third Violin Concerto.

Elizabeth Alker presents an afternoon of exclusive music-making from the UK and beyond including recent highlights from the Glenarm Festival of Voice. Featuring specially made recordings, with performances from the acclaimed soprano Erika Baikoff, the Grammy award-winning mezzo Fleur Barron, and one of today's leading recital tenors, Ilker Arcayürek.

Throughout the week, we'll be shining a spotlight on the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Today, they are joined by one of the world's finest violinists, James Ehnes, in a performance of Saint-Saëns' impassioned Third Violin Concerto.

We'll also hear from the NOVO Quartet, one of Denmark's most exciting young chamber ensembles and one of our current BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists.
