Stacey travels to a remote corner of South Dakota to spend a long weekend with a family of polygamist Mormons.

Polygamy is illegal in most countries in the world, including America. But Jeff Alldredge refused to let the law stop him having multiple wives, and in 2008, then aged 45, he tied the knot in a spiritual service with 22-year-old Vanessa and a year later with 21-year-old Sharis.

Stacey meets Jeff, his two wives and their eight kids on their 20-acre farm. Once she’s settled in, the family invite Stacey to join them in the living room for prayer. The mainstream Mormon church officially rejected polygamy over 100 years ago. Estranged from the church, the family must now worship at home.

Each night, Jeff alternates between his wives' bedrooms, and Stacey learns it can be a difficult balance to keep them both happy. But soon, the delicate harmony of their current arrangement will be put to the test, as Jeff reveals he is on the lookout for a third wife. Wondering if his Mormon faith is the genuine reason behind Jeff’s desire for multiple spouses, Stacey explores how a potential third wife will affect life for Jeff, Vanessa, Sharis and their eight children.
