Eric Knowles talks to guitar enthusiast Martin Waugh about his impressive collection of rare and valuable instruments. Martin has gigged with some of the biggest names in pop music, and in this episode he explains his knowledge and lifelong passion for the electric guitar. There’s even an impromptu rendition of the Bargain Hunt theme tune on his beloved Fender Stratocaster! There’s no time for an encore though, as two teams warm up to go antiques shopping with their experts. In red are friends Ranjit and Paula with Nick Hall; in blue are married couple Kate and Sam with Izzie Balmer. With 60 minutes on the clock, the reds consider their first possible move – an expensive Victorian games compendium! Meanwhile, Sam gets in a spin over a quirky metal globe, but Izzie thinks it’s a bit dull. And at the auction in Etwall, Derbyshire, there’s fighting talk when one expert reckons their team is “born to Bargain Hunt.”
