Episode 15
Cup Match weekend brings huge crowds, boaters face choppy conditions and missing safety gear, officers manage beach disorder, and a drunk boat operator admits he is over the limit.
It’s Cup Match weekend, Bermuda’s biggest holiday, and the island is in full swing. At the national cricket ground, Inspector Karema Flood and DC Renay Rock keep a close watch as thousands pour in over two high-energy days of sport. With soaring temperatures, alcohol flowing and emotions running high, the atmosphere quickly shifts as crowds gather for the trophy presentation.
Out on the water, Colour Sergeant Tyler Smith and Corporal Neville Vanderpool patrol choppy seas and crowded channels. Missing lifejackets, drifting raft-ups and risky manoeuvres keep them busy until one boat’s journey under a bridge raises serious questions about judgement and responsibility.
At Horseshoe Bay’s Beach Fest, officers prepare early for what’s to come. As the beach fills to capacity, PCs Adam Thompson, Melissa Butler, Ayesha Akbar and Sergeant Tavin Trott deal with everything from minor disputes to heat-related incidents – along with joining in the revelry. When a visitor’s mobile phone goes missing in the packed crowds, the search becomes a test of everyone's patience and persistence.
