| Council House - Dining Room | |
| | | The dining room is located on the first floor.
It contains an oil painting of the Queen by John Townsend, the gift of Mr Lewis H Colton.
This portrait of the Queen is different as it was done from a photo.
The Queen apparently likes it as it is said to have a family likeness - looking like both the Queen and Princess Margaret.
The veneering above the fireplace is the traditional centrepiece of the room - but nowadays hardly anyone notices the craftsmanship involved in producing this artwork.
