FACTS
Nottingham's Council House was completed in 1929.

The Council House has an inbuilt vacuum cleaner.

Each coat of arms is meant to be distinctive yet Nottingham's coat of arms is the same as that of Colchester and Cologne.

This was the second sprung dancing floor in Nottinghamshire. (No-one knows where the first one was).

The beautifully proportioned ballroom is a replica of the ballroom at the Palace of Versailles.

The ballrooom also serves as a banqueting or reception hall for large civic occasions.

Its seven tall windows open onto the terrace overlooking the Old Market Square.

The large pillars are actually hollow - and are used as ventilation shafts.
