Locals help a study of sharks off Kent coast
Did you know that the UK is actually home to quite a few species of shark?
Well, a new project is helping to gather data so scientists can help to track their movements and behaviour.
Sharks of Kent is a project from Kent Wildlife Trust, led by their marine partners Adonis Blue.
The starry smooth-hound sharks are caught, and important information is gathered before they're released back into the water.
The project also involves local marine biology graduates and training local fishing experts and boat skippers to tag sharks too so that they can contribute to the work.
